What's the deal with that weird Kwak glass? Is it just a gimmick/tourist magnet or is there method to the madness?
Main Post:
I've come across this glass at a specialist Belgian bar in the UK. I've heard it has to do with the brand story but is there more to it? Is the beer any good, or is it all about the novelty/oddity of the glass? Would love to know how it is regarded by proper Belgians.
Top Comment: The story has to do with horse carriage drivers that weren't allowed to leave the carriage. On the carriage they couldn't put the beer down anywhere. So the holster was made to hang on the carriage and the glass could be put in it when they wanted too. The beer isn't bad, the glass is indeed a gimmick. And actually you are supposed to take the glass out of the holster when drinking. But as a tourist magnet it does work.
Karoo2 Cracked glass.. how to deal with it? Has anyone had a cracked screen on their karoo2? .. I dropped mine the other day (within my first month of buying direct). I reached out to Hammerhead. They want 250 to replace the full unit. The unit itself works. Seems steep. Any advice?

Top Comment: Doesn't help you with this unit anymore, but be sure to get the unofficial protective case on amazon.

For you who go barefoot in a city, how do you deal with glass?
Main Post:
I've seen that there is an answer for this question in sidebar: that this is not an issue. Sure, in nature it's seldom (mainly on hilltops and nearby fireplaces) although I've got one small invisible splinter on a path before.
But in a city? Fresh broken glass everywhere, sometimes in a smaller street it's even impossible to not to step on glass. I've seen that many of you go barefoot in a city, how do you deal with it? Choose a different path if one is blocked with glass? Be super cautious? (might be difficult if streets are crowded to spot the glass)
Top Comment: Spot the worst of it. Learn to walk gently without scuffing, as you tend to learn as a barefooter. Build serviceably tough soles. It doesn't take much. Just be extra careful while your soles are truly soft. Most glass isn't freshly broken. It weathers to bluntness pretty quickly and tends to end up in little notches where you can't put much weight on it if you can touch it at all. Fresh glass tends to be a shiny congregation, often with large pieces still present. Still not all that dangerous to the hardened barefooter, but you will see it in this most dangerous state. If you notice a splinter, remove it ASAP. Pull it straight out if you can so you won't just snap off the protruding bit. Glass is fragile; more so when it's the sort of really thin spike that can penetrate. I only ever got a few glass splinters. Some of the worst splinters out there, mind, but not at all like the horror of slashing your feet that people tend to imagine. The issue is that a tiny sliver can remain stuck in your sole, sending a sudden sharp pain if you happen to step on something in a way that concentrates a lot of pressure near the splinter. It takes a week or so for the worst to dissipate as the skin sloughs off. I also highly recommend watching the Deadly Broken Glass Dilemma by Ken Bob Saxton.
What's the deal with glass panels installed on te roof Kendall frequents in s2e4 "Safe Room"? And another question.
Main Post:
Who installed them and why? :o Did someone notice it and acted swiftly and elegantly like that? If fence metaphorical?
Also, why does Logan and Shiv think Kendal's "latest" - that actress lady is stupid? Because she didn't knew what to say to someone who clearly doesn't care?
Top Comment:
I personally believe they were installed by management (not sure if directly on Logan’s orders) to prevent suicide jumpers after someone in the office shot himself. It does play into the metaphor as a prison.
The lady was a bit of an airhead and it’s obvious Kendall wasn’t interested in her for her depth
